Portugal Masters Vilamoura October 13 – 16

This is the final European based event of the Tour for this season and is always very popular with many of the top ranking players, simply because of the venue …. Also, I moor my yacht here in Vilamoura Marina so that comes in handy for entertaining!!!!!

Logos on tour in PortugalI had been feeling that we should look to have a sort of ‘bon voyage’ bible study here in Vilamoura, the arrangement for our get together is always dependant on the circumstances of who’s there and who’s where, here that isn’t an issue as everyone is pretty central … So we duly did have a final gathering with seven in attendance, two of whom were unsaved, so that was terrific … We even had it outdoors (under the shade, as it was very hot and sunny) just outside the players/caddies lounges …

We used that marvellous passage where Jesus asks ‘who do you say I am?’ And dwelt on Hebrews 4:12 where the word separates between Spirit and soul and how we can seek to find God in our Spirit and decipher between that and the human emotions/attitudes of our soul as Jesus’ reply to Peter reveals, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven.” Matt 16:17

There were individual follow ups to this where one of the unsaved who came along, a caddie was seeking further, always good when others come back on their own to ask more …

I also met up with a pro and his girlfriend separately one evening … he has been on tour for 12 continuous weeks and the journey that He is on continues and he almost came along to the study, but I still see him often in any case ….

There was real interesting comment from another caddie who stopped me to say his teenage son has started going along to the youth club at his local church, neither the caddie, nor his wife go to church but his teenage daughter and now his son do. Thought it was good he mentioned this and there may be a little family link come from it, as its  near my home town Paisley …

So I now await the long haul events over the winter where Sth Africa will be visited a few times starting late November …

Many thanks for all your prayers, support and e-mail encouragements throughout the season – appreciated more than I can possibly express ..

Romans 12:12
‘Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.’

Thank you for your faithfulness …
