Italian Open Monza Milan September 13 – 15, 2016

You will be well aware that the Tour follows the sun but every now and then the rain takes its revenge, so Tuesday and Wednesday went to plan with 30 degrees and searing sunshine, Thursday? Deluge wouldn’t be in it … “Three men in a boat [for Thursday]” would have been an apt title for this week’s update …
First Man

I travelled from the airport to the venue in a courtesy car with player, Matthew Southgate, who last year was diagnosed with testicular cancer, which for a 27 year old is a bit of a setback .. He has since then gotten the all clear after due operations and has had a good playing year which he’s put down to the renewed perspective that a health issue brings … He sees himself as more; appreciative, positive and ‘lucky’ – so it was good to have such a long chat to him and I look forward to discussing the ‘luck’ aspect with him ….

Second Man
Ashun Wu was back this week and we met up for a 1 – 1 study which was terrific …. He encapsulates all that you imagine an oriental to be; mannerly, cheerful, grateful and in Ashun’s case, always looking to Jesus … He on a practical front finds Europe ‘foreign’ which is interestingly how the players/caddies find China, the food he finds strange? The language a barrier, although I reckon his English is excellent, but he finds it difficult to read the language, most of all there is only one other Chinese on the Tour and he is a teenager who isn’t a believer so he finds life somewhat lonely – do please keep Ashun before God …

Third Man
Courtesy car man Nick was in attendance this week and I had a really long and profound time with him … We met on Wednesday afternoon just after he’d been for a solitary walk, which was a product of our last couple of weeks studies on Mary choosing the better part and the meditating on the word of God and he then sat down for what he reckoned would be 10-15 minutes (he was working after all) that turned into 60 minutes as we just talked about the things of God and he had lots of meaningful questions and I had the opportunity to give him my testimony … So God is clearly moving with Nick, keep praying …

Did spend a bit of time with Mark again and we are going to meet up here in Northern Ireland soon … Should have been Four men n’ a boat, but there’s no book with title that title …

‘Making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.’ Ephesians 5:16

‘Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity.’  Colossians 4:5

Two weeks at home now before the final run of three events from early October.
