The Italian Open [Rolex Series] at Golf Club Milano Monza – October 10 – 12
We had three glorious autumn sun-filled days in Milan, which then continued throughout the tournament, as the Rolex series ticked along. Another €7 million purse this week – with the crowds flocking out to support their growing band of Italian stars, along with the hype of the build up to Italy’s hosting of the Ryder Cup 2022.
We had a super little get together this week with two players and a member of staff. Our study dwelt on John 15:1-17 and I simply asked them to read the passage slowly and share what struck them, it’s such a passage that you can’t read it with something striking you.
One picked out verse 16 – ‘I chose you’. He had no family background, no peers who played golf, nothing, and yet here he was and fully aware God had done this and brought him from nowhere to where he is today.
Another picked out verse 5 – ‘apart from me you can do nothing’. He felt that so much of golf was down to himself, but he was moved that ultimately no matter how much he trains, practices etc, if all is not given to Jesus, then it’ll come to nothing.
This was the final event of my season and we now move on to seek God for the next Logos person … These chats/interviews will take place in January and the intention is that I shall accompany that person to some events next season, as we know the disciples went out ‘ .. two by two ..’ Mark 6:7
I’ll keep you posted with developments, but I am very thankful for all prayers, support and the encouragements I’ve received from so many of you over these last eight seasons on the ET.
‘I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ. Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the saints.’
